CHS Cross Country

Saturday morning arrived with a slow drizzle of rain and temperatures in the low 60’s in Crow Agency for the Hardin Meet.  Normally perfect weather for running but there was one exception…MUD!  There was so much mud that the original course with the infamous “Gas Cap Hill” had to be changed and the runner had to run an asphalt “flat and boring” running course. The Colstrip Colts and Fillies did awesome at this meet placing 2nd as a team (67 points) behind the Hardin Bulldogs by a difference of six points and the Fillies placed 3rd as a team (90 points) finishing behind Hardin and Laurel.  The closest Class B team was Huntley Project with 126 points.  Way to go Colts and Fillies, keep up the good work!

During the Varsity Colts race there was some confusion as to where the race ended but the Colts prevailed and finished first and second with slower times than they are used to but still doing a great job under the circumstances.  Todd Blythe won his first cross country meet of his high school career by an exciting time of 17:10, twenty-one seconds ahead of the second place runner.  Chase Robinson had a tremendous kick and came in second place for the team and overall with a time of 17:31 defeating Tucker White from Billings Central at the finish line.  Dane Aberle finished 3rd for the Colts and placed 13th overall with a time of 18:47, Jordan Bends was our fourth runner and had an overall finish in 25th place with a time of 19:51 (Personal best), our fifth place runner was Taylor Ramsey with an overall finish of 26th place at 19:53.
